Summary
The Research Assistant II will play a key role in coordinating and conducting experiments to explore transcriptional regulation by DNA methylation in development and tumorigenesis. Dr. Shen’s research group employs cutting-edge technologies, including single-cell transcriptomics, epigenomics, and CRISPR-based epigenome editing, to investigate the role of DNA methylation in health and disease.
We are seeking a highly motived team member to support ongoing research projects by performing experiments using animal models and primary cell cultures.

Dr. Shen’s research group employs cutting-edge technologies, including single-cell transcriptomics, epigenomics, and CRISPR-based epigenome editing, to investigate the role of DNA methylation in health and disease.
We are seeking a highly motived team member to support ongoing research projects by performing experiments using animal models and primary cell cultures.
Job Duties
- Design, conduct, analyze, and troubleshoot experiments in molecular and cellular biology, utilizing techniques such as PCR, cloning, DNA/RNA extraction, Westernblot, and cell culture.
- Conduct preclinical animal studies using genetically and epigenetically engineered mouse models.
- Responsibilities will include breeding and genotyping mice, tracking tumor phenotypes, performing histologic analyses (including immunohistochemistry), and administering intraperitoneal (IP) and tail vein injections.
- Document experimental procedures and results, maintaining accurate and organized records of both written and electronic data, ensuring that all records are easily accessible.
- Supervise and mentor laboratory personnel, including technicians and students, providing training and guidance as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in natural science or related field.
- At least one year of experience in handling mice.
