Description:
The appointment as Associate Professor will have a primary role in the Doctor of Clinical Exercise Physiology Program and Physical Therapy Faculty Practice, teaching and mentoring students and overseeing patient care in the Medical Exercise Therapy (MET) Clinic.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Building a referral base for the Medical Exercise Therapy (MET) Clinic
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, including participation in patient care, quality control of care delivered, and documentation
- Manages and supervises other faculty and staff involved in the delivery of exercise and testing services
- Academic assignments within the UIC Department of Physical Therapy's Doctor of Clinical Exercise Physiology Program
- Service on department, college, and/or university committees as assigned by the Department Head
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Exercise Science or related field
- Previous experience in the development and delivery of exercise in patients with chronic diseases
- Previous experience as an educator in the class, laboratory, or clinical setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Record of scholarship (i.e., peer-reviewed publications and/or extramural funding)
