About this Position

We are looking for a proactive and motivated intern to join our Engineering and Maintenance team at our manufacturing facility. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in equipment maintenance, engineering projects, and process optimization. The internship focuses on supporting the reliability of plant operations, continuous improvement initiatives, and digital transformation in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Maintenance Leadership and Asset Reliability:

  • Assist in implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Use data from the Maintenance Management System to monitor equipment performance and suggest optimizations.
  • Support maintenance schedules for planned and unplanned repairs, collaborating with technicians to minimize downtime.


Digital Transformation in Engineering and Maintenance:

  • Contribute to the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT sensors, predictive analytics, and digital twins for maintenance and equipment monitoring.
  • Collaborate on integrating new digital tools and software into maintenance workflows, enhancing real-time decision-making.
  • Assist in the rollout and training of staff on digital platforms, ensuring smooth adoption and utilization.

Engineering and Technical Assistance:

  • Participate in plant modifications, upgrades, and new installations, incorporating digital solutions for enhanced system performance.
  • Assist in root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Work with the team on infrastructure improvement projects to support continuous production excellence.

Capital Investment and Project Management:

  • Collaborate on site capital investment projects, contributing to project planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Assist in evaluating project feasibility, ensuring alignment with long-term operational and strategic goals.
  • Support compliance with project management standards, emphasizing safety and environmental considerations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with production, safety, quality, and other departments to align maintenance and engineering activities with operational needs.
  • Support the coordination of activities to ensure plant schedules and quality standards are met.
  • Assist in aligning local maintenance and engineering practices with global and regional strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement and Digital Transformation:
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies.
  • Assist in implementing Industry 4.0 technologies for predictive maintenance and process optimization.
  • Contribute to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability projects, focusing on innovative solutions for reducing waste and improving equipment performance.

Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Support compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in all engineering and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in risk assessments and the implementation of safety management systems.
  • Promote a culture of safety by participating in safety audits and initiatives.


What makes you a good fit

Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with maintenance practices, CMMS systems, and root cause analysis is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and digitalization in manufacturing.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Work Environment:

  • The internship is based at our manufacturing plant in Scheemda, with exposure to both office and shop floor activities.
    Interaction with maintenance, engineering, and cross-functional teams is an integral part of the role.
