The School of Life Sciences (SOLS) invites applications for two (2) full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-eligible, career-track instructor positions in general biology. The positions are 100% teaching with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2025. Subsequent academic year renewals (August 16 to May 15) are common, yet contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the unit. Supplementary summer teaching is often available, if desired.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching lower-division undergraduate courses in general biology (BIO 100 The Living World, BIO 181 General Biology I) and possibly human anatomy and physiology (BIO 201 Anatomy and Physiology I). Applicants should have a broad grasp of biological sciences as well as experience in teaching lower-division college or university-level general biology courses. Given course content, we are seeking instructors with some background in molecular and cellular biology and/or human anatomy and physiology. These courses will be taught on campus (in person) and online. Successful candidates will contribute to collaborative, unit-level initiatives that promote student success and engagement. Successful candidates will also supervise graduate teaching assistants, undergraduate teaching/learning assistants, and/or academic associates and collaborate with other faculty to update/develop course materials.
