Position Summary

This position plays a key role in supporting the design, execution, and interpretation of research projects, particularly focusing on complex laboratory tasks and data collection for manuscript and grant submissions. Our research is centered on investigating the interactions between the microbiome and immune signaling in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases, with a specific focus on Gastroenterology and mucosal immunology. The position will directly assist the Principal Investigator in advancing this project by utilizing a range of technologies, including cell culture, molecular biology methodologies, genetic animal models and other cutting-edge NGS approaches.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Animal work, including breeding, genotyping, colony maintenance, and conducting animal models.
  • Perform cellular and molecular biology experiments, such as cell culture, Western blotting, and qRT-PCR.
  • Manage general lab operations, including tracking supplies, verifying invoices, and maintaining reagent and inventory records.
  • Design and set up experiments based on protocols, assist with data analysis and interpretation.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field required. Master’s degree in science preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
  • Proficient in specific lab research techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS, MD or Ph.D. in biology or a related field.
  • Expertise in animal handling and mouse colony maintenance is essential.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques and research methodologies.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $35,568.00 - $43,888.00. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints.
