Position Summary
This position contributes to the design and delivery of research projects and collaborates with researchers to develop, execute and interpret research projects for the Children's Environmental Health Initiative (CEHI), a research, education, and outreach program housed within the Department of Pediatrics at UIC. Performs complex data collection and study methods. This position supports the development and application of statistical methods to assess how environmental and social exposures affect health and developmental outcomes across time and space.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participates in the design, planning and implementation of research projects and statistical analysis.
- Identifies, locates, and obtains data/information.
- Utilizes statistical software to format and analyze data.
- Designs database models.
- Builds automated reporting and analytical solutions.
- Manipulates and curates data.
- Completes data analysis.
- Reports research findings.
- Ensures information presented is valid and accurate.
- Develops presentations, manuscripts, and reports.
- Performs code checks of other analysts’ code according to quality assurance procedures.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required. Master’s degree in social science preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
- Possesses and applies advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
- Knowledge and skills in data manipulation and analysis using SAS, R, and/or Python; statistical methods, including linear and non-linear regression, multilevel models, and/or Bayesian methods; working with public health and/or epidemiological data; software statistical packages such as Stata, SAS, R, or HLM; analytical and research skills; report building; verbal and written communication including proofreading; presentations.
The budgeted salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints.
