ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR – DEPARTMENT OF NUTRITIONAL SCIENCES

POSITION: The Department of Nutritional Sciences is expanding through a new initiative where successful candidates will establish (tenure-track, Assistant Professor) or maintain (tenure eligible, Associate Professor) a strong extramurally-funded research program focused on investigating human nutrition. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, molecular mechanisms of micronutrient and macronutrient function in human health; gut microbiome; precision nutrition; nutritional interventions impacting diabetes, cancer, or health span; community nutrition; food security and safety; and performance nutrition. We are particularly interested in candidates that compliment and expand existing expertise within the Department and through engaging campus partners. These partners include the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center, Stephenson Cancer Center, Oklahoma Center for Geoscience and Healthy Brain Aging, and a growing neuroscience initiative. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in teaching, mentoring, and training of graduate and professional students.

ENVIRONMENT: The Department of Nutritional Sciences has research strengths in food security and safety, behavioral nutrition and epidemiology, redox biology and protein biochemistry, surgical oncology and critical care nutrition, diabetes pathology and management, and interprofessional dynamics across health professions. Research efforts are buoyed by advanced core facilities covering all aspects of biomedical research including high-content omics, advanced microscopy and imaging, biostatistics, and protein production. The department is located in a new 109,000 square foot building housing the College of Allied Health, with opportunities for expansion. This includes a variety of specialized research laboratory space.
