The Department of Pharmacology and Immunology at the Medical University of South Carolina invites applications for a full-time faculty position. The academic appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the tenure track series.

The successful candidate will complement the diverse research portfolio of our newly merged department, which includes T cell biology and adoptive cellular therapy, neuroimmunology, autoimmunity, infectious disease, redox metabolism, glycoproteomics and multimodal spatial omics. Candidates conducting cutting-edge research in any aspect of cancer pharmacology or immunology are especially encouraged to apply, and current strengths in this area include T cell biology and metabolism, tumor microenvironment, target discovery, biomarkers, therapy, and the use of immune cells as a vehicle for therapy. Cancer focused faculty will be located in the Hollings Cancer Center, an NCI designated cancer center. Ideal applicants will be creative and collaborative scientists. They will be expected to establish and maintain a rigorous extramurally funded research program, as well as to participate in our strong graduate training programs. The scientific environment within the College of Medicine and in the Department is highly interactive and productive, with strong ties on campus to other Basic Science and Clinical Departments, as well as Research Centers and Institutes. Outstanding core facilities are available on campus (https://research.musc.edu/cores), including a state-of-the-art Mass Spectrometry Facility within the department that specializes in the analysis of post-translational modifications of proteins.
