The yearly salary range for this role is $90,000 to $110,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.

JOB SUMMARY:

The West Hazleton, PA Henkel manufacturing facility is looking for top talent to lead our facility to Best in Class performance levels and culture. We have a clear three-to-five-year journey laid out to build capability and deliver results using the processes of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean Six Sigma (LSS). If you enjoy working with others, and have a passion for improvement, come join our winning team! This position will lead the Vertical Start-up (VSU) activities for key plant projects. This position will report directly to the Director of Engineering

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead vertical start-up for new capital projects, process improvements, RCA, and small capital projects.
  • Own/lead IQOQPQ (Installation, Qualification, and Verification) execution phases.
  • Ensure the Current Operation Assessment is developed and implemented: Facilitate FMEA exercises to ensure operational readiness.
  • Liaison between engineering, operations, and CI to design, build, and install new capital projects in the department with vertical start-up and life cycle costing in mind.
  • Lead site preparation and execution of VSU Operational Readiness Checklist and Deliverables.
  • Define the project’s success criteria and start-up curve(s) and obtain approval from management.
  • Establish a comprehensive integrated detailed start-up plan with alignment from plant management and all stake holders.
  • Lead and coordinate team activities by assigning the relevant VSU tasks to the individual team members and follow through on efficient and effective task execution.
  • Secure appropriate management alignment and support to the start-up plan and VSU team through the Communication Plan.
  • Develop and implement the training strategy (People Development), material plan, and DMS roll-out to deliver sustainable results.
  • Maintain start-up log with clear loss, cause, action tracking, and documentation. Perform Post-Mortem project meeting after verification phase.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or any other similar 4-year degree.
  • Must have Project Management skills.
  • Previous experience in Process Engineering/Continuous Improvement is preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated tenacity in driving through obstacles to achieve results and maintain project timelines.
  • Must have 2-5 years’ experience in a high- speed manufacturing environment.
  • Must have 1-3 years’ experience in Continuous Improvement (CI), directly or indirectly, with knowledge and skills in FMEA, TPM, VSU or EEM, CI, 5S, 5-Why, SMED, PM, etc.
  • Must have experience with CapEx scoping, planning, and execution.
  • Must have experience with Maintenance programs, such as Time-Based Maintenance (TBM) and Total-Predictive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Must have strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Must be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to adapt your communication style to different audiences, including active listening, clear presentation skills, and the capacity to provide and receive feedback.
  • Must have strong leadership skills.
  • Must be able to pivot and adapt to changing priorities.
