We are looking for a talented Senior Scientist/Department Head to lead a dynamic Department of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING).

The Department, is dedicated to providing world-class cancer clinical diagnostic services, pioneering research in cancer genetics, epigenetics and therapeutics and post-graduate level teaching and project supervision primarily in the area of cancer.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior Scientist and Department Head you’ll lead guide and elevate our team to achieve excellence in cancer research, diagnostics and education. This position combines a leadership role within CING with a faculty appointment at the appropriate rank commensurate with experience and track record at our postgraduate School, enabling you to shape the department’s direction while mentoring students. You will report to the CEO and Medical Director and serve on the Institute’s Scientific Council, playing an active role in our strategic decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We welcome applications from candidates with PhD in any Biological Science, Chemistry or closely related field. Moreover, a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience in the field of Cancer is needed; Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to design and carry out original and independent research projects that result in publications. Lastly, applicants should have managerial and leadership skills and experience as well as excellent knowledge of the Greek and/or Turkish and English languages.

Experience in cancer genetics, cancer genomics or cancer biology is a significant plus.

Annual starting gross salary (including 13th salary) is €75.149,90 (Scale A15/A16) plus an annual allowance of €11.284 plus other benefits.
