The Rutgers Institute of Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases (i3D) invites applications for open rank, tenure track faculty positions in immunology. Successful candidates will join a team of researchers at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) Child Health Institute (CHINJ) on the New Brunswick, NJ campus.
A major focus of research within i3D is immunity during infectious and noninfectious diseases. Research at CHINJ includes basic and mechanistic studies of immune function and immune response disorders in the context of immune cell development, antigen presentation, transcriptional control of functions and calcium flux. More broadly, CHINJ scientists study the causes, treatment and prevention of childhood illnesses including on-going studies of asthma, type 1 diabetes, inflammatory neurodevelopmental disorders and autism, synaptic regulation and neural circuits in feeding and behavior, and immune cell regulation of cognitive disorders. As members of both i3D and CHINJ, new faculty will have the opportunity to interact with scientists throughout Rutgers University including the Department of Pediatrics, the Rutgers Cancer Institute, and the Center for Immunity and Inflammation.
Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree, outstanding academic credentials, a track record of research accomplishment and grant funding commensurate with their current academic rank. Applications from physician-scientists are encouraged. Tenure-track appointments will be made through appropriate departments at RWJMS, with full access to graduate training programs and research resources. Successful candidates will be provided with excellent start-up packages and will be expected to develop and maintain strong, externally funded research programs, and participate in collaborative projects with other Departments and Institutes on the campus.
Interested applicants should submit the following documents: (1) letter of interest directed to Lisa Denzin, Ph.D, Chair of the Search Committee; (2) curriculum vitae; (3) a brief description of research interests and future research plans, and (4) names and contact information for at least three references.
Rutgers University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
