Applications are invited from qualified applicants for available tenure-eligible faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The Vascular Biology Center of the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University presently includes 19 tenured/tenure-track core faculty and their staff (research faculty, Pre- and Post-doctoral Fellows and Research technicians) in well-equipped laboratory space (20,000+ square feet). Desirable applicants should have strong communication skills and research that complements the highly collaborative faculty of the VBC and contribute to the Center’s extramural grant portfolio (currently >$16M) as well as its graduate and post-doctoral training programs. Excellent core facilities exist within the Center (including access to Vevo 3100, Seahorse XFE (24 and 96) and metabolic phenotyping cores, CLAMS, NMR) and within the institution (small-animal imaging, biotelemetry, next generation and 10x single cell sequencing and advanced imaging (confocal, lightsheet and electron microscopy).
Successful applicants will have a track record of excellence in cardiovascular research with a focus on vascular biology, cardiac, inflammaging, pulmonary, eye, brain, or obesity/metabolic disease. Associate Professors should have established NIH-funded programs. Preference will be given to applicants with interests complementing those of existing faculty as described at http://www.augusta.edu/centers/vbc/.
