ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Computational Biologist with a strong biological and computational background to join the Oncology Research Unit (ORU) Computational Biology group. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with an exceptional team of scientists working on the development of novel ADCs and immuno-therapeutics in ORU at La Jolla, CA or Bothell,WA sites.
Key responsibilities include the analysis of multi-omics data; bulk mRNA expression, single-cell sequencing and spatial omics data. The successful candidate is expected toapply cutting-edgebioinformatics, data science approaches to advance drug discovery programs with an emphasis on ADC development. The successful candidate will also be responsible foranalysis of biomarker data from early clinical development and translating findingsinto new therapeutic hypothesis. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Computational Biologyscientists and teams generating functional genomics, proteomics, enzymology, and structural biology data.
Position Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with bench scientists to design and execute computational analysis of omics data fromdrug discovery programs.
• Develop and leverage state-of-the-art computational approaches for cancer ADC development and precision medicine.
• Develop novel algorithms (including ML/AI)and workflows for the analysis of multi-modal data.
• Conduct in silico analysis to integrate, interpret, and mine internal and public data to address questions about tumor-associated antigens, predictive biomarkers, tumor indications, ADC drug combinations, and resistance mechanisms.
• Collaborate with scientists from diverse disciplines in ORU and Pfizer divisions.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary project teamsto formulate data-driven, actionable hypotheses and contribute to data packages supporting decision making.
• Present analytical results and literature reviews at project meetings as required.
Qualifications:
• Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience in computer science, bioinformatics, data science, computational biology, or similar disciplines.
• Proficiency developing and implementing computational data analysis methods for oncology drug development, preferably with experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Extensive experience in analyzing multi-omics next-generation sequencing data (e.g., genomics, bulk RNA-seq, single-cell sequencing, spatial omics, proteomics, etc.) for biomedical research.
• Proficiency coding/scripting in Python and R. Familiarity with Linux environments, high-performance computing, cloud computing, and broad experience with open-source bioinformatics tools.
• Deep knowledge of ADC development, immune oncology or immunology research and related tools/databases.
• Strong motivation, passion, and commitment to interdisciplinary science and techniques.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously with different priorities and timelines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and presentation abilities.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,900.00 to $166,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
