The Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics (CING), a world-renowned research, medical, diagnostic, and academic centre, is expanding into a new state-of-the-art building of an area of 11,358 sq.m., where research on new emerging cutting-edge sectors in the wider health sector will be engaged through new teams.
We are inviting applications for four (4) Associate Senior Scientists/Group Heads to establish and lead pioneering research teams in a dynamic new space. This is a unique opportunity to be part of CING’s growth and contribute to its cutting-edge achievements in the biomedical sciences.

CING is engaged in clinical care, teaching, and research across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including neurological and neuromuscular diseases, hemoglobinopathies, metabolic diseases, rare endocrinological and other rare diseases, chromosomal abnormalities and syndromes, cardiovascular, cancer, infectious and immune diseases. The areas of scientific activity of CING extend over a broad range of disciplines and include genetic epidemiology, investigations on the causes of diseases, disease modelling in animal (mouse) and cell-based models, novel diagnostic methods, genetic and other therapeutic approaches, identification of biomarkers, forensics, bioinformatics and biostatistics.
About the Positions:
CING invites applications for four (4) positions of Associate Senior Scientists / Group Heads to establish and lead new innovative research teams.
The successful candidates will be selected based on scientific excellence and the ability to engage in research programs, leading to translatable/exploitable output and benefit for the patients and society. The successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership in managing research programs, supervising PhD students and post-doctoral fellows and will collaborate with other institutions internationally. The thematic areas of the new teams will be related to the current activities of CING, some of which are described above. For more on our current activities, visit cing.ac.cy. They could also be expanded to other research areas such as ageing, neuroimaging, assistive technologies, drug discovery, regenerative medicine, nanomedicine or other fields, in line with CING’s mission and vision.
The successful candidates are expected to start on 1st November 2025.

Who We’re Looking For:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- PhD in a relevant field related to the current and expanding research activities of CING; and
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience; and
- Demonstrated ability to conduct original and independent research leading to high-impact publications; and
- Proven supervisory experience; and
- Excellent command of the English language
