The Jim and Eleanor Randall Department of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai, in conjunction with the Department of Pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s, is seeking a Research Scientist to join a new Center specializing in Developmental and Stem Cell Biology. The focus of the successful applicant will be regenerative hearing research. Applicants should have a history of impactful publications in these research areas.
The faculty member within the Center will work in close partnership with the Regenerative Medicine Institute, Departments of Computational Biomedicine and Biomedical Sciences, and other relevant units on campus. The Center focuses on understanding fundamental principles of development and regeneration using both animal models and human tissue. The primary appointment of the Research Scientist will be within the Division of Otolaryngology and the Department of Surgery. We are interested in basic research scientists who work in the following areas: early embryogenesis, organogenesis, tissue stem cell biology, and adult regeneration.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate (MD or PhD or both) with three (3) or more years’ experience in otolaryngology research
- Evidence of successful NIH or industry funding
- National or international prominence with proven abilities as principal investigator and mentor
- Demonstrated ability in research mentoring
- Computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows and/or a comparable operating system that sufficiently provides for access to patient and other business information

Our compensation philosophy
We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The base pay range shown takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This base pay range does not include our comprehensive benefits package and any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.
