GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Multiple Research Scientist positions are available in the Noyes lab at the NYU School of Medicine https://med.nyu.edu/faculty/marcus-noyes. These positions will focus on the design and application of epigenetic editors for therapeutic applications. This position has the potential to be a hybrid academic/industry position as ALL of our projects have direct therapeutic applications that either we or our industry partners will develop for the clinic. In most cases we will follow a model where potential leads are developed in our lab in vitro, before promising constructs are carried forward to the clinic by ourselves or our partners. Therefore, the ideal candidates will have extensive experience working with common and specialized cell lines and the application of high throughput assays in these cells. Experience working with neurons, hepatocytes, and/or mouse cell lines would be ideal. The position will focus on the execution of common high throughput assay for systems and synthetic biology in these cell lines. These assays include ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq and their derivatives. The positions will also require some cell line construction, therefore experience working with viruses would be preferred. In addition, some routine lab duties will be required including the management of orders for the lab and basic training for new members of the lab. Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently within the scientific framework of the PI’s laboratory are critical.
Interested candidates can feel free to contact Dr. Noyes directly: marcus.noyes@nyulangone.org
