Muhlenberg College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biology, beginning August 2025. The successful candidate will support instruction and research in our interdisciplinary Biochemistry Program. The science departments at Muhlenberg are a welcoming community of students, staff, and faculty who are dedicated to undergraduate intellectual growth. The successful candidate will be student-centered and dedicated to diversity-affirming teaching and research in a liberal arts undergraduate environment.

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant discipline, and demonstrated teaching experience. Post-doctoral experience is preferred. Successful completion of satisfactory background checks is also required.

The standard teaching load is equivalent to three courses per semester,  including sections of an intermediate-level Biochemistry course, with lab, each semester, and additional courses to serve biology and biochemistry majors, as well as the general academic curriculum. The successful candidate will have their own office and research laboratory, as well as access to shared equipment and resources of the Biology and Chemistry Departments. In addition, the Muhlenberg Center for Teaching and Learning offers a range of programs in support of faculty, including pedagogical workshops, support for meaningful classroom experimentation, and facilitated interdisciplinary collaboration.
