Assistant Professor

The Center for Computational and Integrative Biology (CCIB) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) together with the Center for Integrated Solutions for Infectious Diseases (CISID), invite applications from outstanding scientists or physician-scientists for a tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. The candidate will be fully employed by CCIB at MGH in the Department of Medicine, and their laboratory will be within the rich research community situated at the Simches Research Center of MGH. Ideal candidates are pursuing innovative approaches to fundamental problems in infectious disease and immunology relevant to human infection.

The successful candidate will be an Investigator at CISID, an interinstitutional collaboration between investigators and clinicians at Harvard, Harvard-affiliated hospitals, MIT, and the Broad Institute. Motivated by real clinical problems, the goal of CISID is to integrate our multidisciplinary expertise, fluid connection between research and clinic, and cutting-edge technologies to uncover fundamental principles underlying infection and its complications towards broadly transforming the diagnosis, treatment, and management of infection. CISID’s mission synergizes with CCIB’s goal to foster interdisciplinary and quantitative research to answer enduring biological questions and provide insights into human disease. Our Centers’ members have access to world-class research facilities on-site, at Harvard Medical School, and at the Broad Institute, and to a large research data and sample biorepository of consented patients at the hospitals. We offer a competitive startup package to build an independent research program and engage in teaching students and fellows in the laboratory and/or classroom.

Appointment as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Suitable candidates should hold a PhD, MD-PhD, or MD degree.
