Research Assistant II - PART - TIME (20 hours benefits eligible)

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant II position is to provide technical and coordination skills in carrying out various research projects, to include coordinating procedures and performing technical laboratory duties in accordance with general and/or specific plans for the institution.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Research:Coordinates and conducts experiments and carries out research projects in varied areas of basic science.
Equipment:Constructs, assembles and operates laboratory apparatus and equipment.
Supply Orders, Records Mgmt., & Professional Literature and Consultation:
Prepares laboratory supply orders and initiates routine equipment maintenance requests; keeps laboratory well-stocked and operational. Records and evaluates data. Reads literature and confers with peers and superiors to develop new and novel procedures for carrying out assigned research.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
Preferred Education:
Master's Level Degree
Experience:
One year experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
