Assistant Professor in African & African Diaspora Studies
Boston College’s African and African Diaspora Studies Program (AADS) invites applications for a tenure-track core faculty position to begin in August 2025. This position will be a joint appointment between AADS and a cooperating department. While this search is an open field one, we are particularly interested in scholars working in Haitian Studies or STEM in African and African Diaspora Studies.
This search is part of a larger cluster hire in African and African Diaspora Studies (AADS) that was conducted last year. Four new core faculty are starting in fall 2024. The successful candidate in this search will also be a core faculty member in the AADS program with a tenure home in a collaborating department.
The AADS Program currently includes 13 core and 7 affiliate faculty members. Our faculty are based in the following departments in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences: Art, Art History and Film; Communication; English; History; Music; Political Science; Psychology and Neuroscience; Sociology; and Theology.
Applications must include a cover letter, curriculum vita, a writing sample of no more than 30 pages, and three letters of recommendation.
All materials must be submitted via Interfolio at https://apply.interfolio.com/151848 on or before Monday, October 7, 2024 for full consideration. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled. For inquiries about the position, please contact Lorelle Semley (lorelle.semley@bc.edu). For assistance with submitting your application, please email Richard Paul (richard.paul@bc.edu).
