The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative at the University of Alabama at Birmingham announces an open position for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Sadis Matalon’s Research Laboratory. We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow to conduct innovative, research in the mechanisms of oxidative injury to mitochondria and its implications in the pathogenesis of acute and chronic lung injury. Applicants must have solid background in free radical biochemistry and mechanisms of lung injury and repair. Those with experience in ion transport studies, including patch clamp techniques, will be given high priority. The successful applicant will be encouraged to write and submit foundation and NIH grants. The postdoc candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $56,400 to $70,000 plus fringe benefits (health insurance and retirement benefits) per the University of Alabama at Birmingham policy and NIH guidelines.
