Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Limited evidence on the perinatal safety of numerous FDA-approved drugs is available. A postdoctoral fellowship is available at the National Center for Toxicological Research to examine the potential developmental neurotoxicity of approved drugs.

Successful applicants will have recently completed a doctoral degree in the last five years. Interest and/or expertise in research design, models of rodent behavior, protein chemistry (e.g., enzyme linked immunosorbent assay [ELISA] and western blot), immunohistochemistry (IHC) and histology, and/or statistical analysis should be evidenced by first author peer-reviewed research publications. An excellent command of written and oral communication in English is mandatory.

The National Center for Toxicological Research (https://www.fda.gov/about-fda/office-chief-scientist/national-center-toxicological-research) is a one-million square foot FDA research center located in Jefferson, Arkansas, approximately 25 miles south of Little Rock, Arkansas (https://www.littlerock.com/). Little Rock—a medium sized city and the capital of Arkansas—has a burgeoning arts and food scene and is at the center point for a wealth of outdoor recreation (https://www.arkansasoutside.com/).

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or related field (e.g., psychology, biology, chemistry) with related publications. Candidates must be United States citizens having lived in the U.S. for three out of the past five years.
