A postdoctoral fellowship is available in the field of Bioelectronics in the laboratory of Prof. Suman Bose at Mayo Clinic Arizona. Situated within the Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering, the Bose Lab is developing next-generation cell-based therapies. Our research explores the intersection of biomaterial science, cellular engineering, and bioelectronics to create innovative solutions for treating human diseases.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a bioelectronic implant designed to interface with engineered cells for advanced drug delivery applications. Additionally, they will lead pre-clinical testing in disease-relevant animal models. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes biomedical engineers, synthetic biologists, chemists, electronic engineers, and clinicians. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop bioelectronic devices that interact with engineered cells.
- Conduct pre-clinical testing using relevant animal models.
- Collaborate with a multi-institutional team to execute complex research projects.
- Contribute to the translation of research findings into clinical and commercial applications.
Qualifications:
- A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, with a preference for recent graduates.
- Proven expertise in circuit design, wireless power transfer, and near-field communication.
- Previous experience in developing bioelectronic devices is highly desirable.
- Experience with animal model testing is preferred, though not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A strong publication record, with at least one first-author paper in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, and a collaborative mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
