Chair/Professor - Marine Biology - 991509

Nova Southeastern University’s Halmos College of Arts and Sciences in Dania Beach, Florida seeks a department chair for a 12 month permanent position at the Full Professor level. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in grant writing and teaching at the college level with a strong publication record and external funding history. Typical duties may include but are not limited to: providing leadership and strategic planning to the department in order to achieve the college and university goals, management of the departments’ structure, including allocation and management of resources, reviewing performance of departmental faculty and staff and recommending salary adjustments and promotions, updating course scheduling plans and assigning faculty to teach courses, as well as preparing annual reports. As a member of the faculty, the successful candidate will continue to secure extramural funding for research, do some teaching (1/1) in area of expertise and engage in service activities.
