(1) MARINE SCIENTIST (NATURAL SCIENCE) The position is a full-time, permanent appointment, federal funded position, with 15% of time devoted to student engagement and instruction in STRI’s field-based courses. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in marine science or related field, and show evidence of outstanding research potential, including publication record and extramural funding. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is advantageous, but not required. Early-career candidates are encouraged to apply with a demonstrated external work experience sufficiente and equivalent in grade 12. The selected candidate will receive allowances and differentials according to Department of State Standard Regulations (DSSR) and unique specific policies. Laboratory set-up and relocation expenses may be provided, as well as direct support for research on an annual basis based on budget availability. (2) MARINE SCIENTIST (SOCIAL SCIENCE) The position is a full-time (12-month), not to exceed 3-year, research appointment, trust funded position, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability and performance. The position includes 15% of time devoted to student engagement and instruction within STRI’s field-based courses. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in relevant marine social science disciplines, and show evidence of outstanding research potential, including publication record and extramural funding. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly desired, but not required.
