Microbiology and Immunology Faculty Positions
the University of Toledo

The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology (MMI) at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences seeks to hire two tenure-track faculty (Assistant or Associate Professor) positions with a focus on funded researchers studying highly-infectious pathogens, host-pathogen interactions, and/or vaccine/therapeutic development studies. The University is undergoing an exciting phase of research infrastructure expansion, including a $7M federal investment to renovate and expand the existing BSL3/A-BSL3 into 6 biocontainment suites, with shared equipment spaces and biocontainment entry/exit showers, for Select Agent, biodefense, and/or emerging infectious disease research.  BSL3/A-BSL3 renovations are expected to be completed by July 2025.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees and have at least three years of relevant postdoctoral experience.  Current funding that is transferrable to the University of Toledo is required.  Successful candidates will be expected to develop/maintain an externally funded research program and contribute to teaching in our medical and graduate programs.  In addition to BSL3/A-BSL3 space, applicants will be provided an updated research laboratory (BSL2), start-up funds, and salary support commensurate with the faculty rank.
