The role will be responsible for facilitating and enabling delivery of ARWA projects in the successful realisation of waste management and disposal solutions through the application of systems engineering.
As the Assistant Manager Systems and Requirements, you will manage requirements and other systems engineering processes across ARWA projects and lead other technical disciplines in the application of these processes. This includes the elicitation and lifecycle management of requirements relating to disposal, treatment, and waste packaging systems. More widely, you will also contribute to developing a systems engineering approach within ARWA and implementing the relevant processes across programs and projects. The role will work collaboratively across all work functions of ARWA to ensure the highest levels of safety, security and sustainability is achieved in the delivery of technical work.

- Experience working with stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop lifecycle concepts, elicit requirements and develop system architectures.
- Ability to plan and manage interactive programmes of work to ensure milestones are achieved and delivered to the required standard.
- Proven track record of producing technical documentation within time, cost, and quality constraints and for a range of audiences.
Desirable Characteristics:
- Awareness of systems modelling methods and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Detailed knowledge of engineering, safety, and environmental assessments.
- Experience in, or a sound understanding of, the radioactive waste management industry.
- Understanding of systems and tools necessary to support implementation of an infrastructure program.
- Sound understanding of Commonwealth Government processes.
Qualification/s:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (or equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience).
