Job Description: The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine (LCOM)  is actively recruiting for a full-time faculty colleague with a research focus in cancer cell metabolism and will pursue opportunities for collaboration with a robust redox biology research program at the University of Vermont (UVM).  The Redox Biology and Pathology Program is composed of 11 collegial, dynamic faculty focused on understanding redox-based mechanisms in the pathology of disease.  This longstanding, successful research center, which continues to lead this field of research, is working with the UVM Cancer Center to recruit a research colleague to the Tenure Pathway.

 

The Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont collaborates with health care providers who are part of the and the University of Vermont Health Network (UVMHN).  This Health Network is composed of seven hospitals, including the academic University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) in Burlington, Vermont.

 

Burlington is situated on Lake Champlain in the Champlain Valley and surrounded by the beautiful Green Mountains in Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains in north country New York.  Few locations rival the quality of life possible in this picturesque setting, and working with the research faculty and staff at UVM provides a supportive work environment.  Ample small-town communities exist for a quiet, peaceful living experience, and for those seeking convenient access to amenities, Burlington offers a vibrant living experience associated with college and university towns.

    Qualifications:

  • PhD, MD, MD/PhD or equivalent.
  • Post-doctoral or faculty level research experience in redox biology and cancer with supporting publication record.
  • Track record of successful funding in redox biology and/or cancer biology.
  • Experience and demonstrated success in cancer-focused research training grants is desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experiences and/or training in diversity, equity and inclusion knowledge and best practices desired.
