Nanchang is an ancient city that has many prestigious seats of learning. As one of them, Nanchang Hangkong University (NCHU) is a multidisciplinary university that focuses on engineering and keeps coordinated development in fields of engineering, science, liberal arts, management, economics, law, education and arts. NCHU always holds firm to the schooling philosophy of “Students-Centered, Quality-Oriented, Strengthening with Talents, Prospering by Opening Up, Pursing Distinctive Development”, and has been advancing steadily its intensive construction and improving its education quality with its undergraduate teaching level assessed as excellent by the Ministry of Education.

 

Located in Jiangxi, a place with splendid landscape and a cradle of talents, NCHU will hold the 2nd International Young Scholars Forum from October 23-25，2024 which aims to build a platform of communication and cooperation for young scholars at home and abroad. Focusing on the theme of exploring academic frontiers to further serve national major strategic needs, this forum is expected to promote interdisciplinary integration and academic innovation, strengthen mutual cooperation and mutual trust, as well as to show the unique charm of NCHU for attracting top talents to work in Jiangxi to make their contributions, thereby co-promoting the “Double First-Class” construction of the university.

 

NCHU sincerely invite young scholars at home and abroad to participate in the forum to conduct academic communication, enhance mutual cooperation, and feel the sincerity of NCHU on the campus. Ⅲ.Requirements for the Participants

 

1.Support the leadership of the Communist Party of China; Be passionate about higher education, of good personal character, law-abiding, self-disciplined, and committed to professional ethics.

2.Having obtained a PhD degree from prestigious universities or institutions at home and abroad, and made achievements or with good potential in personal fields of study.

3.Intending to work full-time at Nanchang Hangkong University.

 

Ⅳ.About the Registration

 

1.Eligible young scholars at home and abroad are welcome to log in to the registration system to register and fill in your relevant information. You can visit the following website and fill in the Registration Form：

2.We will review the qualifications of the applicants and send e-invitations in batches to those who have been approved.

3.Invited scholars must complete and return the confirmation form within one week upon receiving the e-invitations to confirm whether to attend the forum.

 

Ⅴ.Subsidies for Participants

 

We will arrange free accommodation and meals, and provide round-trip transportation subsidies (economy class airfare or second-class high-speed rail tickets) for invited scholars. The subsidy limits are as follows: up to 13,000 RMB per person for scholars from Europe and North America, up to 7,000 RMB per person for scholars from the Asia-Pacific region, and up to 5,000 RMB per person for scholars from within China (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan).

Ⅶ.Policies for Scholars Introduction

 

1.Categories of Introduced Scholars

Based on their professional capabilities and academic achievements, Introduced Scholars will be categorized into Strategic Scientists, Disciplinary Leaders, Academic Leaders, Backbone Scholars of Key Disciplines, and Overseas Outstanding Young Talents, etc.

2.Benefits for Introduced Scholars

Supports from Jiangxi Provincial Government:

(1)All the introduced talents are recommended to apply for the Ganpo Yingcai Program and Ganpo Juncai Supporting Program. Scientific research project funding and subsidies will be provided to those who have been approved.

(2)For Scholars approved as Introduced and Trained Talents, certain rewards and research project funding will be granted.

 

Supports from Nanchang Municipal Government: Full-time PhD holders who pay social security for the first time in Nanchang city will receive a living allowance of 100,000 RMB per person.

 

Supports from Nanchang Hangkong University:

Benefits will be negotiated individually according to their ability or achievements, and ample research funding will be provided. Additionally, we offer a transitional housing unit, proper job arrangements for his or her spouse, and quality educational resources for faculty members’ children at the university’s affiliated kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school.

 

More Information about NCHU

Founded in 1952, Nanchang Hangkong University (NCHU)is one of the first institutions in China with the authority to confer bachelor’s degree. NCHU started to enroll postgraduates in 1985 and was authorized to grant master’s degree in 1990. NCHU has been successively subordinate to the Ministry of Aviation Industry, the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Industry, and the Aviation Industry Corporation of China. In1999, the University started to implement the management system of joint construction by central and local institutions with local government management as the mainstay. NCHU is now an institution of higher education jointly built by People’s Government of Jiangxi Province and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence, PRC.

 

Located in Nanchang, the City of Heroes, a land of attractive resources and a birth place of creative minds and gifted talents, Nanchang Hangkong University has three beautiful campuses of Qianhu campus, Shanghai Road campus, and Gongqingcheng campus, covering an area of more than 3,500 mu(about 2,333,333 km²). NCHU has established 17 schools of specialized subjects, 4 management schools, and 1 independent college, Science and Technology College of NCHU. NCHU has a postdoctoral research station of “Jiangxi Provincial Research Center of Testing Technology and Control Engineering”, a postdoctoral innovation practice base of “Jiangxi Provincial Research Center of Aeronautical Materials Engineering and Technology”, 1 National Engineering Laboratory, 1 National Engineering Research Center, 39 provincial (ministry-level) key laboratories (or research centers) and provincial key bases, 2 National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers and 14 Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers.

 

The University has 17 first-level disciplines that have the authority to grant master’s degree, 14 disciplines that have the authority to grant master’s degree. It has 3 provincial first-class disciplines of Jiangxi Province, including Environmental Science and Engineering, Aerospace Science and Technology, and Instrument Science and technology, as well as 5 characteristic disciplines about national defense. Nanchang Hangkong University currently offers 71 undergraduate programs, including 21 national first-class undergraduate program construction sites, 5 national characteristic programs, and 1 national comprehensive reform pilot program. Additionally, there are 28 Jiangxi Province first-class undergraduate program construction sites, 8 provincial characteristic programs, and 6 provincial comprehensive reform pilot programs. Furthermore, 11 programs have passed the Ministry of Education's engineering education accreditation, and 2 programs have passed the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's professional evaluation. NCHU has been on the second batch of universities implementing the “Outstanding Engineers Education Training Plan” of China’s Ministry of Education. It has got 6 majors approved for the pilot of outstanding engineers education and training on state-level and 6 majors approved on Provincial level of Jiangxi Province.

 

In addition, NCHU has 3 disciplines, including Materials Science, Engineering Science and Chemistry, that rank in the top 6‰ in Essential Science Indicators (ESI) and are stepping into the top disciplines in the world.
