Performing cutting edge research in molecular and cellular mechanisms of Immune responses in the lung and extrapulmonary organs against pathogenic microbes and sepsis, training postdoctoral researchers and graduate students related to techniques, presenting research findings at national and international meetings, writing manuscripts and organizing laboratory reagents for research. See recent articles for more details about research avenues (Blood, 2019, Mucosal Immunology, 2019, PLoS Pathogens, 2018, Journal of Immunology, 2021, Frontiers in Immunology, 2024). Experience in viral infection and flow cytometry is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

70% - Conduct studies to evaluate the roles of innate and adaptive immune molecules in pathogenic viral/bacterial infection and sepsis using a mouse model and human cells.

15% - Writing laboratory manuscripts.

10% - Training postdoctoral researchers and graduate students related to techniques.

5% - Organizing laboratory reagents for research.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. and 4 years experience in immunology and viral/bacterial pathogenesis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. and 5 or more years experience in immunology and viral/bacterial pathogenesis.

Specific Experience - Prior research experience in a university setting. Flow cytometry experience.

Special or Physical Qualifications:

Required to be capable of standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below the shoulder, vision near sight, vision far sight, pushing/pulling, climbing, and squatting.
