Performing cutting edge research studies in host response to pathogenic microbes in the lungs and extrapulmonary organs at the School of Veterinary Medicine's Lung Biology Laboratory, presenting research findings as oral and poster at national and international meetings and symposia, preparing manuscripts for publications, and managing animal colonies for experiments. Experience in viral/bacterial pathogenesis, immunolgical response to infection and flow cytimetry is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

65% - Conduct studies to evaluate the roles of innate and adaptive immune molecules in pathogenic viral/bacterial infection and sepsis using a mouse model and human cells.

25% - Writing laboratory manuscripts.

10% - Organizing laboratory reagents for research.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. and 2 years experience in immunology and viral/bacterial pathogenesis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. and 3 or more years experience in immunology and viral/bacterial pathogenesis.

Specific Experience - Prior research experience in a university setting. Flow cytometry experience.

Special and Physical Qualifications:

Required to be capable of standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below the shoulder, vision near sight, vision far sight, pushing/pulling, climbing, and squatting.
