Position title: Aging of CD8 T cells Impacting Viral Response and Neurodegenerative Diseases
We are recruiting goal-oriented, creative, and highly motivated postdocs to use single-cell omics (transcriptome, TCR, and epigenome) to study T cell differentiation and age-related alterations of T cell function. Specifically, we investigate: 1) The transcriptome and TCR repertoire of CD8 T cell response against viral antigens (SARS-CoV-2, IAV, and CMV) and their changes with aging. 2) The role of CD8 T cells in neurogenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. We use human samples and mouse models for research with goals of better understanding T cell immunity and its applications in medicine. We encourage applicants with relevant experience in immunology, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, molecular biology, and bioengineering to join our team. Successful applicants are expected to have a PhD or MD/PhD with substantial research experience. Prior experience with molecular biology, immunology, and human and mouse work is preferred. For further information, please visit the Weng lab at the National Institute on Aging, National Institutes of Health. To apply, applicants should send their Curriculum Vitae, a description of past research accomplishments, future research interests, and three names for reference to:
