Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) and Tufts Medical Center (TMC) are increasing joint research looking to further develop exciting, forward-looking multidisciplinary translational research. To facilitate this, we are cluster hiring investigators at all career levels (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor) into basic science and clinical departments to build areas of existing strength and areas of opportunity for growth. We are soliciting submissions from individuals and existing teams eager to participate in transdisciplinary translational research including those who would come to Tufts to work together. Successful applicants will have a track record of impactful publications and robust research support. Those bringing state-of-the-art methods and capabilities that can add to Tufts transdisciplinary translational research will be prioritized. Candidates should be able to articulate a vision of how existing assets at Tufts can be grown or leveraged to address unmet needs in biomedical science and clinical medicine.
These positions will include appointments in any of our basic science departments, clinical departments, or research institutes. Tufts has robust core facilities, flourishing graduate and medical education, a community of research-focused academics and clinicians, and structured mentorship and support for all faculty. The Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) partners with Jackson Laboratories, Maine Medical Center, MIT, Northeastern University, and community and industry partners. CTSI research services, resources, and education are available to support the research, translational, and clinical efforts of the new investigators.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have experience appropriate to their career level. Successful candidates will be expected to develop thriving, well-funded research programs and to participate in graduate and medical student teaching and mentoring. Tufts is committed to anti-racist practices, and we are keen to continue to diversify our faculty and encourage applications from groups underrepresented in medicine and science.
Application review is underway and will continue until all positions are filled. Please submit electronic applications including a CV, statement describing your current and planned research including how it could contribute to collaborative, interdisciplinary, translational research at Tufts, a brief statement of your commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion, and the names and email addresses of at least three references here or email helen.boucher-deanandchiefacademicofficer@tuftsmedicine.org.
