The Immunomodulation and Translational Research Program in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Missouri, Columbia, MO, has 3 open positions at Postdoctoral or Research Scientist levels to participate in federally funded projects focusing on cancer immunoprevention and immunotherapy. We have developed a range of novel immune ligands and demonstrated their therapeutic efficacy for various cancers. Notably, a biologic (SA-4-1BBL) as a single agent has shown prophylactic efficacy against various tumor types by triggering an immune surveillance mechanism. This observation is the first of its kind and has significant translational potential. The applicants will explore the mechanistic underlying of SA-4-1BBL cancer immunoprevention and discover new targetable pathways to develop a universal cancer immunoprevention platform for high-risk individuals. We seek applicants with extensive conceptual knowledge and practical expertise in immunology, cancer immunotherapy, and mouse models of cancer, including humanized models. Candidates should also have hands-on experience in immune cell functional assays and flow cytometry. Importantly, we are looking for self-motivated, innovative individuals with ambitious career goals. Our expanding program offers exceptional opportunities for postdocs and research scientists to grow and achieve their career objectives. The program is located at the NextGen building with state-of-the-art facilities and an outstanding research environment that fosters interactions, collaborations, and career development.
