Role Summary
The ADC Chemistry (AC) group is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and experienced medicinal chemist to develop novel payloads for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). You will apply your background in drug development, medicinal chemistry, and organic synthesis to develop new anticancer therapies. Your background in structure-based drug discovery and project leadership are critical for this position. You will work collaboratively within the chemistry department and researchers across the biology, computational, and translational sciences. You will play a vital role as scientific leader and key contributor to large, multi-disciplinary, matrix teams from project inception to delivery of clinical drug candidates.

Additional Information:
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $117,300.00 to $195,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Key Responsibilities
- Drive a strong scientific agenda, apply expert data analysis, and contemporary design tools to drive effective target design and prioritization within a portfolio of projects
- Contribute to ADC payload strategy and utilize experience in synthetic chemistry and methodology to execute and optimize routes to complex payloads and drug linkers
- Utilize state-of-the-art computational chemistry and structural biology to advance the design of ADC technology
- Effectively communicate and collaborate across a diverse research department and outside functions, such as Drug Safety, to efficiently advance preclinical projects
- Mentor and manage teams directly or in a matrix format for high performance and scientific growth
- Expand the capabilities of chemistry department by implementing new techniques and molecular design and implement cutting-edge technologies
- Prepare patent applications, publish impactful research, and present externally at leading conferences
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry or related area of science with minimum 5 years related medicinal chemistry experience in the biopharmaceutical industry OR
- M.S. degree in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry or related area of science with minimum 9 years related medicinal chemistry experience in the biopharmaceutical industry OR
- B.S. degree in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry or related area of science with minimum 11 years related medicinal chemistry experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
- Strong track record of accomplishment in the biopharmaceutical industry
- Expert working knowledge of the key medicinal chemistry concepts and design tools required for pharmaceutical drug discovery
- Consistent record of peer-reviewed publications from scientific work to date
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading matrix teams of scientists to deliver defined project objectives
- Examples of high impact publications or presentations in the drug discovery or ADC field
