Job Purpose
- The Jiang Lab at the Medical University of South Carolina aims to understand the role of microbiome, inflammation, and autoimmunity in immunopathogenesis in human diseases (i.e, HIV, SLE, Alzheimer’s Disease, Drug abuse).
Additional Knowledge, skill, ability preferred:
- The ideal candidate is to have experience in immunology, molecular biology, or cell signaling pathways. Detailed-driven.
Job Duties -
- Conduct immunologic, cellular signaling pathway, and molecular biologic experiments in human and mouse studies, collect and analyze data, present research data, and prepare manuscripts for publications
- Assays such as qPCR, flow cytometry, ELISA. Assays such as western, IHC/IF, qPCR. Mouse strain breeding, genotyping, and maintenance are ideal but not necessary. Gene knockout and knockin in cells and evaluate its impact on cell functions.
Maintain lab routine work, and apply for lab safety documents
- Routine lab maintenance (i.e., autoclave, tip preparation, liquid nitrogen tank refilling). Support for lab safety applications (i.e., IBC, IACUC).
- Train new lab members.
