Whether you are in the discovery sciences, ensuring drug safety and efficacy or supporting clinical trials, you will apply cutting edge design and process development capabilities to accelerate and bring the best in class medicines to patients around the world.

What You Will Achieve

As a highly skilled and motivated Principal Scientist on our Particle Characterization Team, you will be pivotal to our operations, embodying our steadfast dedication to quality in everything we do daily. Your recognition as a technical expert and a major scientific contributor is assured. Your extensive knowledge of particle characterization will be invaluable to our developmental projects, and you will adeptly represent the team in multidisciplinary settings. Your innovative scientific approach will be instrumental in propelling Pfizer towards new achievements and aiding patients worldwide.

How You Will Achieve It

The Principal Scientist is tasked with leading characterization activities for pharmaceutical drug substances, intermediates and drug products, creation of methods and authoring sections of regulatory submissions.

This role supports multidisciplinary project teams, working with colleagues to define and execute particle characterization activities for drug substances or intermediates, in line with project timelines. The position involves conducting physical characterizations of pharmaceutically relevant powders, including assessments of particle size and shape.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing sophisticated analytical methods to characterize particles in pharmaceutical products.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in particle analysis, outstanding problem-solving abilities, and a dedication to innovation and lifelong learning. The role will also encompass collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and safety, employing state-of-the-art technology for data analysis and interpretation, and conducting experiments to identify and address potential issues. The role requires regular monitoring and maintenance of particle analysis equipment, staying abreast of industry developments to integrate new analytical techniques, and effectively communicating findings to the team, stakeholders, and upper management.

Additionally, the Principal Scientist will train and guide junior scientists in particle analysis methods, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, participate in R&D to enhance analytical techniques, contribute to validation protocol development, and collaborate with external entities for support and expertise.

The role also involves assisting in the resolution of technical challenges related to particle analysis.
