Lawrence University of Wisconsin, a selective undergraduate liberal arts college and conservatory of music located in Appleton, Wisconsin, invites applications for a two-year appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor to begin September 2, 2024. Applicants should hold a PhD in biology or related discipline and be interested in working closely with undergraduate students. Responsibilities include teaching BIOL 135: Ecology, Evolution, and Society, BIOL 280: Experimental Design and Statistics, and ecology-related courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The teaching load is two non-lab courses (or one course with two lab sections) per trimester on a 10-week trimester calendar. Laboratory space, funds to support research, and support for professional development will be available. We encourage applications from individuals who will help us create a more inclusive Lawrence by: (1) further diversifying the faculty; (2) constructing or contributing to successful diversity-related initiatives, creative activity, or research; and/or (3) contribute to the department’s ongoing efforts to develop and implement inclusive pedagogy to address the needs of a diverse student body, particularly as these pedagogies relate to antiracism.
