Associate Research Scientist - Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases
The Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases in the Department of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center invites applications for a research position available to begin at the rank of Associate Research Scientist. Positions include both laboratory and translational research. Work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and physicians at all levels of training, who are devoted to the study of diseases of the alimentary tract. Many of our laboratories focus on the molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis, and disease pathogenesis in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary organs, utilizing advanced mouse models, stem cell research and some translational research involving human cell lines and 3D organoids. Projects include studies of the microbiome, neural signaling, tumor immunity and autoimmunity, Barrett’s esophagus, chronic liver injury, inflammation and fibrosis leading to cancer, intestinal stem cell biology and tissue regeneration.
As an Associate Research Scientist, this appointment will be covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the University and Columbia Postdoctoral Workers-UAW Local 4100.
Minimum Qualifications: MD, PhD, or both. Candidate must have background in research specialty in the Department of Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications: Relevant experience in research unit and the ability to supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Salary Range: $77,000.00 - $84,000.00
