What You Will Achieve

As a member of the Pfizer team, you'll play a critical role in selection of potential therapeutics with optimal properties by identifying liabilities early to inform optimization. In this role, you will contribute towards the selection of high quality Biotherapeutics using biophysical and analytical techniques to support portfolio projects. Your role will include execution on multiple steps of protein expression for biotherapeutic leads, protein reagents, immunogens, and panning reagents, as well as the design and building of DNA constructs.

P fizer's Pharmacokinetics Dynamics and Metabolism (PDM) group in Andover MA is responsible for development and implementation of a variety of bioanalytical assays supporting drug discovery and development program. Ensuring seamless lab operations is fundamental to successful execution of bioanalytical science. We are looking for motivated Associate Scientist who will work with the lab manager and across working groups to ensure that scientific staff can focus on drug discovery enabling research. Furthermore, the candidate will participate in execution and support of science experiments including automation or standardized assays. This is a great opportunity to impact exciting new areas of science and learn hands on techniques in a rapidly expanding field.

How You Will Achieve It

The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain an organized and clean laboratory space, maintain a rotating stock of supplies, communicate clearly on daily work and consistently perform specific protocols. The candidate must be able to work closely with a team and communicate effectively to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Lab operations and general laboratory support including organizing and stocking consumables, point of contact for equipment maintenance.
  • Support scientific staff by assisting with sample preparation and automation techniques while building-up skills to perform study sample analysis.
  • Train and develop skills using different types of automation and bioanalytical laboratory techniques.


Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Assoc/Certificate in Biotechnology/BS/BA with 0-1+ years of experience.
  • General familiarity with basic laboratory practice and a strong interest in analytical chemistry.
  • Motivation and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to follow detailed protocols.


Nice-to-Have
  • Some understanding of protein biochemistry.
  • Some general knowledge of bioanalysis.
  • Ability to multitask.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • As appropriate for lab-based role.
  • Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Lab-based position required to perform all typical laboratory related activities
  • Andover-based, no additional travel required.

Work Location Assignment:On Premise

On Premise colleagues work in a Pfizer site because it's needed to get their job done. They may have flexibility to work remotely from time to time, but they are primarily on-site.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $54,700.00 to $91,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
