The Arabian Gulf University (AGU www.agu.edu.bh ) is a leading regional university, located in Bahrain and was jointly established and is funded by the six Gulf Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC http://www.gcc-sg.org/en-us/Pages/default.aspx ; Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar). The College of Medicine and Medical Sciences offers an MD program as well as graduate studies in Personalized Medicine, Regenerative Medicine Molecular Medicine, Medical Education, Health Policy and Population Studies, and Laboratory Medicine.
The MD program at AGU pioneered Problem-based, student-centered learning in the GCC. Graduates of the program populate various health-delivery institutions in the gulf after obtaining their specialty training certification worldwide and several have rejoined AGU as faculty members.
- Department of Pharmacology at College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Arabian Gulf University, Kingdom of Bahrain seeks applicants for faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor and associate professor in the fields of Pharmacology or Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Excellent scholars are sincerely welcome to join the pharmacology department. Candidates are expected to teach pharmacology to small and large groups of students and to conduct laboratory skill sessions to undergraduate and graduate students. Teaching in a Problem-based Learning curriculum in recognized medical college and good record of publications in peer reviewed journals are required. Having a qualification in medical education is preferable.
Applicants should have MBBS, and PhD degree or its equivalent (Board certification and fellowship). Candidates will be expected to conduct independent research with intra- or extra-mural funding and to have good records of supervision of postgraduate research projects.
