ROLE SUMMARY

  • Accountable for the allocation of critical resources and maintaining optimal resourcing capacity for the Global Site and Study Operations (GSSO) team within Oncology Clinical Development & Operations (Oncology CD&O).
  • Through this, s upport the seamless delivery of a diverse portfolio of studies and trials, ensuring that the right expertise and workforce are available at the right time.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for overall resource management within Oncology GSSO to scale the organization to meet the growing demand for oncology clinical trials and research projects.
  • This role will need to have strong leadership and partnering skills, working closely with Oncology GSSO functional lines and supporting platform lines, GSSO Area Heads across the region s and other teams in CD&O such as Resource Planning and Manage ment Team within Oncology Unit Management Office to bring consistency to resource management and budget tracking.
  • Accountable for making sure that both internal and external resources are effectively allocated across the trial portfolio by implementing a resource planning and forecasting approach to match supply (availability, skills) and demand to fulfill study/project needs.
  • Lead the data / analytics process and reporting to support effective resource management and planning, define and ensure reporting on functional performance KPIs and resolve any quality issues e.g., utilization , data completeness, accuracy of capacity reporting, time-allocation across projects.
  • Partner with Pfizer Oncology Scientific Affairs and Strategic Partnerships (SASP) teams to ensure that GSSO use cases and needs are included in the AI / digital innovation work undertaken by SASP
  • Accountable for the Pfizer Oncology resourcing algorithm for CD&O, partnering with PRD counterparts to develop and enhance a Pfizer enterprise resourcing algorithm and tools to enable resource reporting, forecasting supply / demand, meeting resourcing needs and load balancing.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in resource management processes and to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of tracking time and cost allocation.
  • Utilize internal & external talent acquisition processes to support workforce planning and the recruitment pipeline to maintain an adequately skilled workforce.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree minimally , with 14 + years ' experience
  • Strong quantitative skills and a strong understanding of basic finance principles is crucial to effectively manage the financial aspects of resource allocation.
  • Strong understanding of clinical development operations
  • Resource management and understanding of algorithms to support resource forecasting and planning .
  • Organization and communication skills.


Optional requirements :

  • 5+ years included people management / leadership (note. This role does not have direct reports currently , but effective delivery of responsibilities related to Oncology CD&O resource management will benefit from the incumbent's experience with managing their own teams previously . The role will need to demonstrate strong people management skills to lead resource management across a matrixed and large organization. )
  • Creative thinking in finding innovative solutions to resource allocation challenges.
  • Problem solving to manage changing needs .
  • Ability to work in a multi- geography , matrixed organization .


The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $248,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
