The Camden Cancer Research Center (CCRC) invites applications for a research-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are seeking an investigator interested in establishing and maintaining a vigorous, extramurally funded research program in Cancer Biology and Therapy. The research track at CCRC provides an employment opportunity with many key features similar to the tenure track at Academic Universities, and successful applicants will be provided with a competitive salary and start-up packages. All research faculty at CCRC receive the full support of the Center’s state-of-the-art research resources, including but not limited to comprehensive IT support; biomedical research core facilities; opportunities for clinical collaboration with MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper; and a fully staffed Research Office to assist with administration.

The Center is a brand-new effort with a simple approach: Connect scientists and empower collaborative research to develop the next generation of cancer treatments and grow a critical mass of researchers in South Jersey to join the fight. In the CCRC, we have combined Coriell Institute’s research prowess, Cooper University Health Care’s award-winning doctors and patient-care expertise, and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University’s excellence and influence in medical education to build a state-of-the-art cancer research center in the heart of Camden, New Jersey, well within the Philadelphia Metropolitan area. With an initial investment of $30 million over 10 years, the CCRC will leverage existing cancer research in Camden as the foundation to build this work and attract more of the nation’s brightest minds to the region. CCRC scientists are looking beyond our genetic code to understand how lifestyle and environmental changes can influence genetic expression, risks for developing cancer, and response to treatments. The CCRC team has a proven history of impactful research and translating knowledge into new tools and therapies for fighting cancer.  For additional information about the Center please visit the website at www.coriell.org/ccrcnj/.

Applicants must possess a Ph.D., M.D., or an equivalent degree in a biological discipline, and the successful applicant will have demonstrated a potential for excellence in research, including demonstration of the ability to secure extramural funds.

Interested candidates should submit a CV and a cover letter stating area(s) of expertise and qualifications; synopsis of accomplishments and professional goals; research/teaching interests; curriculum vitae; and contact information, including e-mail addresses for three professional references.
