The Department of Biological Sciences at Wayne State University (http://www.clas.wayne.edu/biology/) is searching to fill a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in the areas of Behavior, Physiology, or Cell Biology with an expected starting date of August 16, 2024. The Department is particularly interested in future leaders who employ systems-based approaches to define molecular, genetic, and physiological processes underlying biological function and disease states.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree, postdoctoral experience, and an outstanding record of research achievement with the promise to establish a vigorous, externally funded research program. Candidates are expected to adopt and develop course offerings at the undergraduate and graduate student level, participate in graduate and undergraduate research training, and perform service at the departmental, college, and university level.

Wayne State University is an urban research university offering more than 350 academic programs through 13 schools and colleges to approximately 24,000 students. Its main campus, located in Midtown Detroit, comprises 100 buildings over 200 acres. In the Department of Biological Sciences, the candidate will complement a highly integrative research community addressing molecular, organismal, and ecological questions with a strong mission in undergraduate and graduate student education.
