Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is equipped with one of the finest, state-of-the-art animal research facilities in the nation. Join us as a Research Support Technician, Operations!
Under the direction of the Cage Wash Supervisor or designee, the Research Support Technician, Operations is responsible for the preparation and processing of animal caging supplies, operating equipment associated with these tasks, monitoring equipment operation, maintaining equipment, and support area sanitization.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Remove dirty bedding from cages and prepare cages, bottles, and equipment for washing.
- Operate washing and sterilizing equipment.
- Prepare caging and supplies for sterilization.
- Deliver and distribute prepared caging equipment.
- Monitor and document equipment operation and report malfunction to Cage Wash Supervisor or Facilities department.
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance and minor equipment repair.
- Operate associated equipment such as bottle filler, pH proportioner, and rack and hose flush stations.
- Assist in ordering animal facility cage washing supplies and unloading and storage of vivarium supplies.
- Clean and maintain animal housing and support areas as requested. This includes floor cleaning, sanitizing halls and ceilings, and general corridor and procedure room sanitation.
Your qualifications should include:
- High School or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications:
- 6 months related experience preferred.
