We invite applications for group leader positions at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) in Vienna, Austria.

The IMP is one of the world’s leading basic biomedical research institutes, located at the thriving and interdisciplinary Vienna Biocenter (VBC). The IMP conducts curiosity-driven research across a wide range of topics, broadly organised into 3 thematic areas: molecular and cell biology, gene regulation and development, cancer and immunology. We aim to recruit a group leader with a strong and innovative research programme in any of tthese or related areas.

Group leader positions are fully independent positions similar to assistant professorships. The IMP offers internationally competitive salaries and generous funds for student, postdoc and technician positions, investments and running costs. Research groups are supported by state-of-the-art core facilities, such as bioinformatics, biooptics, cryo-electron microscopy, next generation sequencing and proteomics.

The IMP participates in the Vienna BioCenter PhD program and VBC summer school, which are amongst the most competitive graduate and undergraduate research programs in Europe.

The IMP aims to improve gender balance among its faculty and therefore encourages female scientists to apply to this call.
