Job Details
The Bioinformatician will join the Scientific Technology Assessment Research Team to assess new technology that aims to advance TGen's "Benchside to Bedside" capabilities through the development and application of 'omics tools. The candidate will be working with cutting-edge technology and data analysis. Utilizing new informatics & analysis methods with multiple programming languages. Assist in organizing, manipulating, annotating, visualizing, & summarizing data from diverse data sources to aid in assessing biological relevance. The bioinformatician will be working in a multidisciplinary team setting on a wide variety of multi-omic applications including whole genome sequencing, RNA-sequencing, DNA methylation, and proteomics. The ideal candidate should be flexible, have a demonstrated ability to learn new techniques, have patience with troubleshooting, and be an excellent communicator. Responsibilities include:
? Work in a team environment to investigate, analyze, and execute process improvements to
research methods to enable scalability and robustness.
? Provide input and structure to ensure successful execution of programs, projects, and tasks.
? Analyze data from new technology platforms and methods to assess data quality and
performance metrics (such as accuracy, precision, reproducibility).
? Summarizing data from diverse data sources to aid knowledge discovery and inference
process, and carry out custom bioinformatics tasks as required
? Assist in extracting, organizing, and summarizing data from diverse data sources to aid
in research papers and or grant applications.
? Custom scripting, as needed, to support development of new technologies.
? Manage documentation and records. This may include designing, organizing, and
maintaining laboratory records, SOPs, and reports.
? Transfer technology and protocols to internal and external partners, including clinical labs.
? Train co-workers on technologies and methods.
? Collaborate with experts throughout the organization, including both scientific and
operational functions.
? Complete projects on schedule to deliver milestone and/or phase gate criteria.
? Communicate and share insights on research findings, internally and externally
