TGen, the Translational Genomics Research Institute, is an affiliate of City of Hope. We are an Arizona-based, nonprofit medical research institute dedicated to conducting groundbreaking research with life-changing results. We work to unravel the genetic components of common and complex diseases, including cancer, neurological disorders, infectious disease, and rare childhood disorders. By identifying treatment options in this manner, we believe medicine becomes more rational, more precise and, well, more personal.
The Bioinformatician will join the Scientific Technology Assessment Research Team to assess new technology that aims to advance TGen's "Benchside to Bedside" capabilities through the development and application of 'omics tools. The candidate will be working with cutting-edge technology and data analysis. Utilizing new informatics & analysis methods with multiple programming languages. Assist in organizing, manipulating, annotating, visualizing, & summarizing data from diverse data sources to aid in assessing biological relevance. The bioinformatician will be working in a multidisciplinary team setting on a wide variety of multi-omic applications including whole genome sequencing, RNA-sequencing, DNA methylation, and proteomics. The ideal candidate should be flexible, have a demonstrated ability to learn new techniques, have patience with troubleshooting, and be an excellent communicator. Come pilot the newest technology to transform translational medicine!
