You are cordially invited to apply for Postdoctoral Fellow positions in the laboratory of Dr. Mingyu Liang, Professor and Chair, Department of Physiology at the University of Arizona. You will have the opportunity to perform cutting-edge research to study hypertension and cardiovascular and renal diseases in one or more of the following groups of projects.

1. Genomics and epigenomics. These projects leverage established platforms in the laboratory for multiple omics assays ranging from mapping the 3D genome to single-cell and spatial omics. You can also utilize human specimens, human induced pluripotent stem cells, and genome editing techniques readily available in the laboratory.

2. Bioinformatics. These projects focus on data science and big data analysis. You can use the high-performance computing infrastructure and numerous established analytical pipelines available to the laboratory to analyze terabytes of omics data generated by the laboratory or available in the literature. You can also be engaged in developing new bioinformatic methods.

3. Physiological studies. You will perform complex cardiovascular or renal physiological studies in vivo, leveraging established technological platforms for such studies and a large panel of genetically engineered mouse and rat models that has been custom-designed and developed in our laboratory.

You will be an important part of a large group that is both rigorous and collegial. You will have the opportunity to learn how to lead team science projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary investigators in and outside our group. Please see https://sites.arizona.edu/liang-lab/ for more information about the laboratory.

We seek applicants with strong interest and skills in omics, bioinformatics, or cardiovascular/renal physiological studies as demonstrated by strong prior publications. The applicant should be committed to developing an independent research career by taking advantage of the extensive career mentoring and support available in our group. The applicant must be an excellent communicator and fluent in spoken and written English. The applicant should have a recent or expected Ph.D. degree in biological, biomedical, chemical, or computer sciences.
