The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas is recruiting a Medical Director of the Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesia Service over the next 6-12 months. This is a full time academic anesthesiology position, open rank, clinical faculty appointment (CFA), and will initially carry a 85% clinical effort. Fellowship specialty training in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine is required with a minimum of two years experience in this field. Candidates will have demonstrated dedication to research by leading and partnering in randomized controlled trials (RCTs), conducting reviews, and contributing to other original research endeavors. Assistant Professors are expected to have at minimum 2 years as Instructor or at minimum 4 years post degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical scientist or GME trainee.
Associate Professors are expected to have a minimum 5 years in rank as an Assistant Professor.
Professors are expected to have a minimum 5 years in rank as an Associate Professor.
New faculty members will be expected to be board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (or approved foreign equivalent) and be actively participating in the Maintenance of Certification Program, or in the examination system with the ABA. All will need to possess an unrestricted Texas medical license in good standing before onboarding.
