The CBS department provides teaching and training in the areas of physiology, neurosciences, cell and molecular biology, immunology, developmental biology (including tissue regeneration), anatomy, pharmacology, cancer biology, and toxicology. Graduate courses are offered in all disciplines associated with the department. Candidates with research programs in any biomedical field aligned with the department, including those with proficiency in proteomics, genomics, and/or transcriptomics, are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be provided with a competitive start-up package, access to high- performance computing, next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics, advanced flow cytometry and microscopy core facilities, metabolomics and lipidomics mass spectrometry facility, high-quality laboratory animal facilities, including in vivo bioluminescence/fluorescence, radioisotope and CT imaging, Biosafety Level 3 laboratories, and the Inhalation Research Facility (IRF), in which exposures to particles, volatiles, and semi-volatiles—individually and in combination—as well as to complex mixtures in both in vitro and in vivo models can be carried out. LSU SVM is also home to two NIH Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in lung biology and in pre-clinical cancer research, with intramural support mechanisms for developing junior faculty. Candidates will be expected to possess and further develop and maintain strong, externally-funded federal research programs, and participate in collaborative projects with other LSU departments and institutes on the campus and LSU at large. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. Women and underrepresented minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
